Twins 4, Tigers 3: Morneau's Homer Backs Another Strong Start From Walters

I've been a bit absent from the site this week, if you've been able to tell. Life (let's be honest: work) has stepped in over the last seven days or so and really interrupted my proper baseball time. But that's all over as of twenty minutes ago. Why? Because I win, life! I win.

Did I mention the Twins won? It was a fun game this afternoon, if a bit odd. Through six innings, P.J. Walters had allowed just three hits. They were all solo home runs. Luckily though, his offense had spotted him four runs before the first one left the yard.

Justin Morneau and Trevor Plouffe went back-to-back in the third inning, with Morneau's shot being of the two-run variety. In the fifth Morneau would plate Josh Willingham on a groundout.

Brennan Boesch, Andy Dirks, and Prince Fielder all went yard off Walters who otherwise was nigh on untouchable, finally getting pulled with one out and two on in the seventh. Francisco Liriano threw three sliders to Ramon Santiago who promptly grounded into a double play.

This was only a two game series but technically this constitutes a sweep. I'm taking it.

Everyone's a stud tonight. That's what happens when my Twins sweep a series, I feel generous. We'll see you in the morning folks.
