There's nothing cursed about returning to the team on Friday the 13th, right? Hopefully not, because that's what will happen with Matt Capps when he puts on a Twins uniform tomorrow night for the first time since hitting the disabled list on June 24.

Capps has pitched 26.1 innings for the Twins this year, which is just a hair shorter than the 27 innings he was given when he arrived from Washington in 2010. Those 27 innings are the benchmark by which we judge him, and oddly enough you could safely say that (with the exception of the home runs) he's been a better version of himself. The strikeouts are down a little, but the walks are down even more leading to a 4-to-1 strikeout to walk ratio. His base runners per inning (1.06 WHIP) is pretty damned good.

Provided he continues to pitch well in the next week or so, I don't think his trade value will have dropped at all. (What do you think? Vote below!)

Kyle Waldrop returns to Triple-A after struggling a bit with command. It has to be difficult, trying to prove yourself while knowing that if you don't (or even if you do) that you'll be returned to the minors (again) once somebody else is available. But pressure and how you deal with it are both part of the equation.

For now it's back to Rochester for Kyle, where he's currently allowed 11 hits (no homers) in 14.1 innings and owns a 1.26 ERA. We'll likely see him again in September.
