If Pittsburgh was willing to trade either Gerrit Cole or Jameson Taillon in a straight one-for-one deal for Willingham would the Twins be interested. It would be very tempting. I think you have to make a trade like that. For the present, Willingham is signed to a very team-friendly contract and a big fan favorite. But to me the bottom line is we have NO pitching in our system and really need a shot in the arm. A better than 50% chance a trade like that doesn't work out, but the Twins have to roll the dice and try to get some good quality young pitching in their system. I wouldn't trade Willingham for anything less than young starter's that are in the top 20 prospects in the game right now. I don't know if Pittsburgh would part with either young pitcher, but Willingham would really help their major league roster right now and might listen to that kind of offer. What do you think?
