Just a quick thought: I saw a report of the Dbacks and Orioles trading Joe Saunders for Matt Lindstrom, which means that both pitchers cleared trade waivers.

I've also noticed a few other names of pitchers who have cleared either trade or release waivers in the last couple weeks; Juan Cruz from KC is the only one that sticks in my memory.

The Twins' pitching is basically a shambles right now. I know it's a lost season now and there's a benefit to giving guys in the organization longer looks to see what they have for next year and beyond, but should they be more aggressive in looking for outside help on waivers right now? Any of the above names could probably have upgraded a spot on the current pitching staff.
