I used to write very well or at least I think I did. I was weird, I started every single piece with a song lyric to set up what I was going to talk about. Hell, one time I used Robert Frost's 'The Road Not Taken' as an opener. How scholarly of me.
Then life gets in the way, doesn't let the creative juices flow and you have, what they call in the business, a block. A mind that was once full of ideas goes blank and staring at a blank Word document becomes more daunting than relaxing.
Realizing this is probably the first step. A sick type of recovery program; you realize one thing and your mind starts linking things together again. Hallelujah on high!
