Twins are Down, Not Out

I used to write very well or at least I think I did. I was weird, I started every single piece with a song lyric to set up what I was going to talk about. Hell, one time I used Robert Frost's 'The Road Not Taken' as an opener. How scholarly of me.

Then life gets in the way, doesn't let the creative juices flow and you have, what they call in the business, a block. A mind that was once full of ideas goes blank and staring at a blank Word document becomes more daunting than relaxing.

Realizing this is probably the first step. A sick type of recovery program; you realize one thing and your mind starts linking things together again. Hallelujah on high!

We all get in ruts. They suck, but eventually we get through them. Do you hear me, Minnesota Twins fans?

This team will once again be a competitive ball club. This team is going through a rut, but they will get out of it.

Let's look at this through the lens of a relationship: Justin Morneau was great. He was nice, caring, and Momma loved him, but he left us for another team (kind of, go with it).

Now we're free again and we can flirt with Byron Buxton or Miguel Sano or maybe even David Price. Let's be flirts! We deserve it! The next one will be better for us.

Bygones are bygones. These last three years were a drag and we were on the phone with our best friend crying way too much.

That's over now, we have moved on. We see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Happy days are here again. The skies above are clear again, so let's sing a song of cheer again. Happy days are here again.
