I'm shamelessly stealing this idea from FanGraphs, and I'm wondering if we won't get a different response assuming that few of us are diehard Cards or Red Sox fans. If you haven't seen the play, here it is at Deadspin.
With runners on 2nd and 3rd and one out in the bottom of the 9th, Jon Jay hit a grounder to Dustin Pedroia at second base. Playing in to cut down the runner at home, Pedroia relayed the ball to Jarrod Saltalamacchia, who easily tagged out Yadier Molina. On the throw home, Allen Craig attempted to advance to 3rd. Saltalamacchia threw to 3rd to retire Craig, but the throw got past 3rd baseman Will Middlebrooks. Craig and Middlebrooks got tangled up at 3rd base, and Craig was easily thrown out at home trying to score by left fielder Daniel Nava, but the umpires ruled that Middlebrooks had obstructed Craig from scoring, and awarded the Cardinals the game-winning run.
I am not going to offer any other context here, though I will give my opinion in the comments below to keep the polling as unbiased as possible.
