I assume we'll get more on this as the deal is finalized, but the Twins appear to have filled out their rotation.
Hughes, 27, had worn out his welcome in the Bronx. A former top prospect, he was 16-13 with an ERA around 4.23 in 2012. 2013 was awful for him, but it appears to be an aberration, not to mention that he enters a much better pitching park with our friendly confines. Three years at $8 mil each doesn't seem too far-fetched for a guy who won't see 30 over the contract.
Nolasco, Correia, Deduno, Gibson, and Hughes. Thoughts? I'd like to see a lefty brought in to compete (here's looking at you, Johan, Diamond, or others), but that looks much better than any five-man set we trotted out last season.
Credit to LaVelle E. Neal III for breaking this. I hope he's right.
