More Prospect Rankings

Two more major prospect ranking lists have been released this week.

On Monday, Marc Hulet released his top-100 list for Fangraphs. Twins prospects were well-represented, and they tied for the MLB lead with 6 representatives.

If you recall, Hulet recently released his Twins top-15 list, and I noted that he surprisingly had Buxton ahead of Sano. I had wondered how much separation there was between the two prospects. This shows that there he has essentially no separation between them. I also found it interesting that all the Twins players were ranked as "twins", with Hick and Arcia together, as well as Gibson and Meyer.

This morning, John Sickels released his rankings, and he threw caution to the wind and ranked 150 prospects. The Twins faired very well in these rankings, with nine representatives, including seven in the top 100.

  • #10 Sano
  • #35 Hicks
  • #36 Arcia
  • #37 Buxton
  • #62 Gibson
  • #63 Meyer
  • #79 Rosario
  • #127 Berrios
  • #131 Kepler

Again, it is interesting to see Twins prospects bunched together again. I would strongly recommend browsing through Sickels's list, as he had comments about several of the Twins prospects, including his rational for Buxton's rank and a slight change in his opinion about Hicks. One final note, I think this is only the second major ranking I've seen with Rosario making the top-100. Good to see that some experts are still high on him.
