Disclaimer: This is just a crazy trade proposal with no substantiated or other evidence, just pure, wild speculation on my part.
With the loss of Texeira for a couple of months, do you think they'd be willing to part with a decent prospect or two to acquire Parmalee? Or How would you feel about Phil Hughes and a low level prospect?
Parm would be a pretty good fit--he'd take over first base and then move to the outfield when Tex returns. He's young, cheap, cost-controlled, and left-handed--everything the Yankees need right now.
This trade would be more logical from the Twins perspective if Benson was having a great spring, or if Arcia was having a spring at all. Nonetheless, I've seen plenty of clamor to trade Morneau and or Willingham at some point this season. But why not Parmalee? It seems like a majority of bloggers/posters might have undervalued Revere, but look what he yielded.
Really, this is just fantasy--Parmalee hasn't built enough value to be worth trading just yet--maybe by the deadline he will have--but that wouldn't fit into the Yankee scenario.
