While at a Twins game recently, I noticed that Oswaldo Arcia's headshot looks very similar to Bill Murray's character, "Carl" from the golf classic, Caddyshack. Immediately, my mind raced at the possibilities of how to incorporate that into this comic.
I know, it's not going to be traditional comic, so much as a parody, but bear with me.
What an incredible Cinderella Story. This Unknown, comes out of nowhere...
To lead the Twins at Target Field in this final at-bat.
He's 1-pitch away from being out, gotta hit one out of the park for the Twins to win it.
*Swings at ball pitched by imaginary pitcher*
He got all of that!
The crowd on it's feet here in Minneapolis, in a normally reserved Minnesota crowd... Gone Wild...
*Mauer and Morneau stroll by as they enter the clubhouse as Arcia waits*
For this young Cinderella, out of nowhere... that ball went foul... he's got one more pitch...
He's got a beautiful stance...
Oh! He got all of that one! That's going... and just slightly foul again.
The crowd is on it's feet here.
He's a Cinderella boy. Tears in his eyes, I guess; as he eyes up this last shot.
He's got another pitch coming and looks like he's got a good stance, now.
This crowd has gone deathly silent.
Cinderella story... Out of nowhere...
This son of a man who works for an oil company...
IT LOOKS LIKE A MIRAC-- IT'S IN THE STANDS! IT'S IN THE STANDS!
(Admittedly, this is more like a parody script with a bunch of pictures instead of a comic. But after making that connection, I had to write this. In the future, I will go back to a more "comic strip" format and post on Wednesdays.)
