Indians 5, Twins 1: Kazmir and Kipnis Lead Cleveland

USA TODAY Sports

KIPNIS!

Don't look now, but Samuel Deduno has been a good pitcher this season. He allowed four runs in six innings to the Indians last night, but he also only walked two. In his six starts and 36.1 innings this season, he's only walked 13 batters.

The only other bright spot for the Twins was Brian Dozier, who homered for the third game in a four and the fourth time in his last five games. He's now hitting .294/.400/.647 in the month of June.

On the other side of the ball, Scott Kazmir continues to occasionally drop in the impressive start. Kazmir has now struck out 62 batters in as many innings this season, and his xFIP stands at 3.97 after Friday's contest - even if the traditional ERA isn't all that sexy. Jason Kipnis collected just one hit on the night, but drove in three - including a two-run single in the seventh that essentially put the game on ice.

That's enough of that nonsense. Today's game is at one. See you there!
