Wayne Hattaway Suffers Stroke

David Banks

The longtime Twins clubhouse fixture is said to be resting comfortably.

Wayne Hattaway, the Minnesota Twins' clubhouse guy with the most amazing mustache in all of Christendom, suffered a stroke on Thursday night. The source for this information, Bert Blyleven's Twitter account, also notes that he is resting peacefully and hopes to go home in a few days.

Hattaway, or "Big Fella" as everyone calls him, has been with the major league club since 2002 and around baseball forever, and this barely qualifies as hyperbole. (If you'd like to read more about him, Jeff Passan's 2009 story is a good place to start.)

We wish him all the best.
