These are the season to date stats (as of 7/7 via Fangraphs) for three non-random MLB Shortstops between 24-26 years of age.
Shortstop 1 was signed in 2004 as an amateur free agent. After appearing in four MLB games in 2011 he was claimed off waivers in December of that year. He spent 2012 between AA, AAA and the Majors.
Shortstop 2 was signed in 2003 as an amateur free agent. He made his major league debut in 2008 and played in 183 MLB games between 2009-2010. In December of 2010 he was part of a six player trade and has been the starting Shortstop for his new team since, playing almost 400 games and accumulating over 5 WAR. Prior to the 2012 season he signed a 4 year $10 million dollar deal with two team options, that could make it as much as a 6 year $22 million dollar deal.
Shortstop 3 was signed in 2005 as an amateur free agent. In July of 2007 he was part of a six player trade. He debuted in the majors in 2009 and between that year and last he racked up an impressive 13 WAR, sixth among all MLB Shortstops during that period. Prior to this year he signed an 8 year $120 million dollar extension.
