Ideal Starting Day Lineup (From my POV)

Starting Pitching:

We have a lot of SP. I think someone said 8. That's a few. However, it seems like only 2 of the 3 young guys (Gibson, Meyer, May) would be able to work their way into the rotation at least to start the season. This is disappointing, but welcome to a team where the veterans are just good enough to be in the rotation, while the young guys are not quite good enough to knock them off. I think that Nolasco deserves another chance after a rough (is that too light...?) 2014 season. He seemed to be righting the ship near the end of the year.

Stash Trevor May into the bullpen? Unfortunately, it seems counterproductive like some have pointed out if they want him in the rotation someday. I say keep him at Triple-A and bring him up if one of the starters begins to struggle/gets injured. It just doesn't look like the Twins can keep May or Meyer locked up in the minors without seeing them in the majors to gauge their (full) potential. I understand the Santana signing, but I am getting annoyed that these young guys aren't being handed the keys. So the top-5 are....

1. Phil Hughes
2. Ervin Santana
3. Kyle Gibson
4. Alex Meyer
5. Ricky Nolasco

Bullpen:

We may have a decent bullpen again (maybe...?). I figure the Twins will keep 8 pitchers in the pen just like most years. Seems like there is nobody who is a dominate reliever, but they are good enough to get the job done. Not too much else to say here other than I hope they pitch less innings than they have had to the past couple years (Except when Hughes starts. Thank you Hughes).

1. Casey Fien RHP
2. Brian Duensing LHP
3. Mike Pelfrey RHP
4. Caleb Theilbar RHP
5. Ryan Pressly RHP
6. Tommy Milone LHP
7. Aaron Thompson LHP
8. Glenn Perkins LHP

Position Players:

Yeah we have a deep farm system. Yeah we need to be patient while they develop. Yeah we will probably not be in the race for the division title this year. I am frustrated that it seems like the Twins are not putting the 'best' team on the field. Mauer at 1B blocks Kenny Vargas from getting some serious playing time and I think he is too young to placed into a continuous DH role, like David Ortiz. While I will give Plouffe props for having a decent season, I think Sano needs some big league experience. I am not sure how Moliter will set the line-up, what kind of players he wants, or even how he will manage the game. Personally I would like to get back to some early 200's Twins baseball (i.e 2014 Royals), but I really have no idea what will happen here. Your guess is as good as mine.

My ideal opening line up:
1. Brian Dozier 2B
2. Danny Santana SS
3. Joe Mauer 1B
4. Kenny Vargas DH
5. Oswaldo Arcia RF
6. Kurt Suzuki C
7. Torii Hunter LF
8. Miguel Sano 3B
9. Aaron Hicks CF

Bench Players:

Chris Hermann, Eduardo Escobar (who deserves to start at SS just as much as Santana), and Trevor Plouffe

That is my opening day, 2015 Minnesota Twins line up. Let me know what you think!
