Twins Fans Celebrating What Is Sure to be High Point of the Season.

With a sweep of a double-header, the Twins record is now one game over .500. Seeing the success the team is having, thousands of Twins fans have begun huge celebrations in honor of this unforeseen event.

"We never would have imagined being over .500 this season, so seeing it happens is a real pleasant surprise," said Tim Michtner of St. Louis Park. "My friend was saying there was no way it was going to happen, but here we are now."

Parade routes are being planned and several people are already talking about which members of this team are going to have their numbers retired. "This is just such a big surprise, you really got to celebrate when something like this happens, because it doesn’t happen too often," said another fan, who drunkenly slurred something unintelligible when asked his name.

Not everyone is so thrilled with the way this season has played out, though. "We’re just barely into the season! The ‘small sample size’ rule still applies here," said Tom Huntsman, "I mean, I’m glad we’re winning right now, but we have 167 games left." Immediately after his statement, the crowd showered Tom with shouts of "ARE YOU EVEN A TWINS FAN?"

With the incredible success the team is having, several media members are expecting Ron Gardenhire’s contract to be extended by a minimum 10 years, and several Twins players are expected to be traded away before they are lost in free agency.

When asked about the upcoming series against the Royals, the crowd offered a show of sticking fingers in their ears and shouting "La la la, I can’t hear you!"
