When I am at the ballpark, one thing I really enjoy are the player walk-up themes. When I was a youngster, I was completely obsessed with WWF (I still can't quite bring myself to call it WWE) professional wrestling. In that brand of entertainment, everyone has a "theme song" that represents them. It was just commonplace (to not have a theme would be to brand yourself as unimportant).
I guess that is why I like each player having an individual swatch of music that is "their own". From Joe Nathan's "Stand Up & Shout" to Drew Butera's "The Show Goes On" and everything in between, I like when a player picks out a really good and fitting theme. Even the ones that don't fit at all (Joe Mauer's "What You Know") are now etched into the Target Field speakers.
Seriously, though...wouldn't it be cool to be able (at some point in your life) to have theme music? Yes, I know, this has already been covered by Family Guy:
That being said, I have two questions for you TwinkieTowners:
1. If you were walking up to the plate at Target Field, what would your music be? Mine (again betraying my wrestling roots) would be too-close-to-call between these two:
2. When Byron Buxton finally gets that first Target Field PA, what should his theme be? I have two suggestions for that as well:
So, what would your song be, and do you have any suggestions for Buxton (or any other Twins player, for that matter)?!
