Eduardo Nunez gives the Minnesota Twins a late push to beat the Detroit Tigers, 4-3

Eduardo Nunez drove in the go-ahead run to give the Minnesota Twins the lead in the eighth inning, as the Twins hung on to beat the Detroit Tigers 4-3 on Sunday.

After Josmil Pinto singled, Eduardo Nunez singled, bringing home Pinto.

Pinto was solid at the plate for the Twins. Pinto went 2-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the seventh and eighth innings.

Jared Burton recorded the win for the Twins. He tossed one inning of shutout ball. Burton struck out one, walked none and gave up no hits.

Joba Chamberlain was the game's losing pitcher. He pitched one inning, walked one, struck out two, and allowed three runs.

Twins closer Glen Perkins put away the final four outs to record the save.

The Tigers jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first. The Tigers got things going when Ian Kinsler doubled. A groundout by Torii Hunter then moved Kinsler from second to third. Kinsler then scored on a sacrifice fly by Miguel Cabrera.

The Tigers scored one run in the fourth inning, and then followed it up with one more in the fifth. In the fourth, the Tigers scored on an RBI single by Austin Jackson, scoring Miguel Cabrera.

The Twins went up for the duration of the game after the eighth inning. Additional runs came from an RBI single by Pinto.
