The Minnesota Twins beat the Toronto Blue Jays 7-2 on Wednesday at Rogers Centre behind Kendrys Morales, who had two extra base hits.

Morales singled in the fourth inning and doubled in the sixth and seventh innings.

Phil Hughes got the win for the Twins thanks to nine strikeouts. The Twins' pitcher tossed seven innings of shutout ball and allowed only seven hits.

Joe Mauer, Josh Willingham and Morales helped lead the Minnesota Twins. The trio combined for eight hits and six RBIs.

Marcus Stroman couldn't get it done on the mound for the Blue Jays, taking a loss. He went six innings, walked none, struck out four, and allowed three runs.

The Twins never surrendered the lead after the first inning, scoring two runs on a two-run home run by Willingham.

The Twins scored one run in the sixth inning, and then followed it up with one more in the ninth. In the sixth, the Twins scored on a sacrifice fly by Trevor Plouffe, bringing home Morales.

After pushing across two runs in the bottom of the eighth, the Blue Jays faced just a 6-2 deficit. An RBI double by Jose Bautista and an RBI single by Dioner Navarro sparked the Blue Jays' rally. Finally, Casey Fien induced an inning-ending fly out from Steve Tolleson.
