The Minnesota Twins' Phil Hughes struck out six batters, but the Twins provided little run support, allowing the Boston Red Sox to steal a 2-1 win Tuesday at Fenway Park.

Jon Lester got it done on the bump on the way to a win for the Red Sox. He allowed one run over 6 1/3 innings. He struck out six, walked one and surrendered four hits.

Hughes took the loss for the Twins. The Twins scored their lone run in the sixth inning when Danny Santana doubled and was later driven home on a sacrifice fly by Joe Mauer.

The Boston Red Sox scored one in the first, scoring Brock Holt on an RBI double by Dustin Pedroia. The Red Sox struck again in the third inning when Holt doubled, stole third base, and scored on a sacrifice fly by Xander Bogaerts.
