When the Minor League season started depression was beginning to set in. Buxton was hurt, Rosario was Suspended and Sano was Tommy Johned.
For most teams and their prospect watchers, this would send their farm system in a tailspin. But the Twins system is so deep, all this did was give new prospects an opportunity to shine.
Vargas and Berrios have done a lot to elevate their stock while Meyer has shown flashes of greatness and all three were invited to the Futures Game.
Mlb.com posted video of 3 of these prospects coming to Minneapolis and tour the MOA. It’s a lot of fun. I feel bad for Meyer as he had to host these two and I would guess that Berrios will need to keep working on his English. But its good to see them interact with eachother and start getting acclimated to the state. I enjoyed seeing Berriors and Vargas react to seeing the Mall of America for the first time. As a guy who grew up in the area I am a bit jaded by that Temple to Consumerism and kinda think it’s a craphole. Clearly those guys did not and it was fun to see.
