Tommy Milone could have pitched really good Friday night. Say, two runs, four hits, eight innings. He didn't, but even if he did, it wouldn't have mattered.
Taijuan Walker one-hit the Twins on Friday night as the Mariners cruised to a 6-1 victory.
Walker's one mistake: a line drive dong from Miguel Sano, who is strong as hell, which took about 1.9 seconds to get from home plate to the left field stands.
Beyond that, Walker dominated: 11 strikeouts, with almost everything else being routine ground ball outs. Meanwhile, Milone gave up 11 hits and four runs in another sketchy outing from a Twins starter, including a monstrous dong from Jesus Montero. UPDATE: this is six straight outings by the Twins without a quality start. Ick.
After the game, the Twins added newbie Kevin Jepsen to the roster and brought back Trevor Plouffe from paternity leave. They sent Jorge Polanco to AA and...Danny Santana to AAA. Prediction: Someone named Eduardo will be the shortstop on Saturday.
