The Twins were able to get to White Sox Ace Chris Sale earlier today, scoring four runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning. The White Sox were able to battle back and take the lead, but it didn't last long, thanks to Miguel Sano and Eduardo Escobar.
The Twins played "Piranha Ball" in the bottom of the 2nd to initially take the score to 4-0 against Sale. They did id with singles from Miguel Sano, Eduardo Escobar, and Kurt Suzuki. Oh, and a wild pitch from Sale. Thanks Chris!
The Twins looked to be dominating until the top of the 5th inning, when the White Sox got to play a little piranha ball themselves. Twins starter Tyler Duffey walked in a run and gave up single to score two more. Duffey gave up a ground-rule double to Jose Abreu before he was replaced by Casey Fien, who promptly gave up a home run to Avisail Garcia to put the Sox ahead 5-4.
That's where our man Miguel Sano comes in.
When all looked deflated, Sano re-inflated all with a game-tying solo shot in the bottom of the 7th. The Twins were able to take the lead and pile it on (a bit) with 3 runs in the bottom of the 8th, thanks in part to Eduardo Escobar, Byron Buxton's speed, and Joe Mauer's singles.
Glen Perkins came in for the 9th and did the job. Twins win.
