One Eastern League team may be headed to Canada

One Eastern League team may be headed to Canada

According to this rumor, the Toronto Blue Jays want a Eastern League team in Ottawa. To do this they want to force the Binghamton Mets to move and the New Britain Rock Cats would become the New York Mets affiliate which would leave the Twins in New Hampshire Fisher Cats territory, or not since the rumor has been shot down. But it makes you think since the Twins may have to sign two new affiliation contracts for 2013, in the worst case scenario, given that our contract with the Rochester Red Wings is also due to end.

Here's an interesting article from Mel Antonen at Sports Illustrated. It's not all positive, and definitely doesn't give me a great feeling. But at least he appears to be headed in the right direction.

Basically the historical scorecard (as of 2/9/2012) is Owners: 292; Players: 215.

The Odds don't look good for Alexi Casilla. But as what I said in Jesse's article on the subject, his case is more unique than others due to injuries to himself and the team, and having to play with Nishi.
