The Mets and the great rally cap orthodoxy failure

The Mets all but invented the rally cap in the 1980s. In 1987, they tried to codify its use. It didn't work.

Numbersota-potassium-aqua

Just a quick note and some good news... The final batch of Super Special Edition Numbersota Tees came off the presses ahead of schedule! I thought I wouldn't see them until next week, but the production crew kicked into high gear and had them ready this morning! So from here on out, all merch on the Blorch! Shop is shipping immediately with no wait. And one last reminder - once sizes of the aqua/red are gone, we're retiring it for good this time.

A Look Back at the 1987 Chicago 'Spare' Bears

Back in 1987 the NFL players went on strike. The owners not wanting a repeat of 1982's cancellation of so many teams hired replacement players. Come take a look at the Chicago 'Spare' Bears.

FINAL 24 HOURS FOR THE NUMBERSOTA TEE PRE-SALE! Pre-orders for The Numbersota Tee end tonight...

FINAL 24 HOURS FOR THE NUMBERSOTA TEE PRE-SALE! Pre-orders for The Numbersota Tee end tonight (11/30). Order now while all tees are still $10 (or $15 for the aqua/red super special edition), and to guarantee delivery before Christmas. Due to the busy holiday season I am only printing enough shirts to fulfill pre-orders - any orders placed AFTER 11/30 may not arrive until after Christmas. However, I'll do my best to get them shipped ASAP. Let me know if you have any questions. Beginning Wednesday (12/1), all tees will move to their regular price of $12 and the super special edition will be in very limited supply. The regular white mens and midnight ladies version will stay available through the New Year, so I will print more as long as people are buying them. Again, order before 12/1 to guarantee delivery by Christmas!!! Thanks to all who have placed an order so far. I can already say The Numbersota Tee has been our most popular item yet! As long as printing goes as scheduled, t-shirts will begin shipping by the end of next week. You will receive a confirmation e-mail once your item does ship. Also, if you ordered a Pavstache or Thome t-shirt with your pre-order, they will ship together with the Numbersota tee! If you have any questions, leave a comment or contact me here. So visit the Blorch! Shop now! What are you waiting for?!? On a side note... is anyone interested in TwinkieTown selling 1" buttons or limited edition screenprinted posters? They'll be quality goods, I tells ya... quality!

Blorch! Shop IE Error fixed... I think.

If you had trouble viewing the Blorch! Shop last week, I think I got everything sorted out. It was presenting itself as a blank website if you viewed it in newer versions of Internet Explorer (a browser I personally avoid like the plague). I made some adjustments to the template code and it's showing up fine now in my seldom-used IE8. If it's STILL giving you errors, please let me know! So now's your chance to finally pre-order that Numbersota Tee! Link right here (the Blorch! Shop link is also always on the left side of your screen, over there). Remember, the pre-sale goes through the holiday weekend and ends November 30th. The standard white mens and midnight blue ladies Numbersota Tees will stick around through the new year, but I'm only printing the aqua/red super special edition tee for those who pre-order, and only a few extra. Again, pre-ordering will guarantee you a shirt! Shirts are still on schedule to start shipping the second week of December. More updates as I get 'em! Thanks again to everyone who has pre-ordered already!

Keith Smart: Still Alive and Talked About. Dammit.

An interview with Keith Smart on Deadspin, mostly about The Shot, a little about Bobby Knight, and even less about what Smart is up to now with the Golden State Warriors.
