Community Projection: Torii Hunter, 2006

New, 11 comments

Most of you have seen John Sickels do this on a number of occasions, and I'm curious to see what everyone thinks about Torii's new season.

At the end of April we were calling for so many heads to roll it was hard to tell where to begin.  The axe fell swiftly on Torii Hunter, in the blogosphere specifically and everywhere generally, mostly because of his salary when getting past the painful start.  Now that May has redeemed said start, where do you see Torii's season heading?

Month   AB   H 2B HR RBI  BB  SO   Avg   Obp   Slg   Ops
April   90  17  2  5  13   6  21  .189  .240  .378  .617
May    104  35  6  4  19  13  18  .337  .407  .510  .916

We've all seen what May has done for Torii, not just statistically but in his approach at the plate as well.  He's had two double-digit game hitting streaks (10 games and 11 respectively, with one 0-for-4 with a walk in the middle).  So take everything into account.  Check out the new poll on your right.  Where does Hunter finish the season numerically?
