Santana Declines Deal?
According to a couple of different sources (including the impeccable SI.com), Santana has declined a 2-year extension on his current deal which expires after the 2008 season. It's reported the extension offer was worth $18,000,000 per season.
My question is this: Is two years/$36 million enough to keep the best pitcher in the game today? Even if it is just a rumor and this was never offered, what's a 2-year extension for Johan Santana worth?
