The American League All-Stars have been named, and Justin Morneau, Torii Hunter, and Johan Santana are all on the list. Deserving candidates, all, but perhaps the team's most deserving player - super-reliever Pat Neshek - stands on the brink. He's one of five players selected for "The Final Vote," which allows fans to pick the last man onto the all-star team.
Neshek is currently allowing .71 baserunners per inning, one of the best marks in the major leagues. Batters are hitting .124 against him, meaning that, among pitchers that have thrown at least 15 innings this year, Neshek is the hardest pitcher to hit in the major leagues. He deserves to be on the All-Star team.
So here's what you need to do: go vote. Right now. Here's the link for the Final Vote ballot. You can vote as many times as you want, and I suggest you avail yourself of that opportunity, because Neshek needs your help to get the accolade that he clearly deserves.
