Finally Official: Cuddyer Hits the DL

Starting right fielder out 15 days due to thumb ligament.

To replace Cuddyer on the 25-man roster, the Twins have selected the contract of outfielder Darnell McDonald from Triple-A Rochester. In 22 games with the Red Wings, McDonald was batting .282 (22-for-78) with seven doubles, one triple, two home runs and 13 rbi. He was acquired from Washington in exchange for pitcher Levale Speigner on June 24 and batted .315 (84-267) with 17 doubles, four triples, two home runs and 41 rbi in 73 games with Triple-A Columbus. McDonald will wear uniform number 31.

Welcome to Minnesota, Darnell.  You're just in time to see whether the Twins will be able to take the offensive, or if they'll be forced to regroup for 2008.  Either way, these three games against the Angels will mean a helluva lot.
