And Then There Were 40

Pitchers Kevin Mulvey and Carmen Cali were trimmed off the spring training roster Sunday morning, leaving 40 players left in camp.  Mulvey was reassigned to minor league camp while Cali was sent outright to AAA.  Cali, a southpaw, had appeared in four games over two weeks and allowed no runs.  Mulvey, a right-hander, appeared in three games worth six innings.

Cali's assignment confirms Dennys Reyes as the left-handed specialist in the bullpen.  So far this spring, Reyes has pitched six innings of work, tallying six strikeouts and a walk.
