Somehow, the Twins have managed to stay in the playoff race, if just barely, into the season's last weekend. I wrote them off a month ago, so I'm more than happy to be proven somewhat wrong, and would love nothing more than for them to play a 163rd game on Tuesday after the Vikings defeat the Packers on Monday.
That said, the journey of a thousand miles starts with a game between two starters no one outside of the Midwest has ever heard of:
Um, he looked good mopping up after Liriano crapped the bed on Sunday? Yeah, that's about what I have for positivity.
His groundbreaking work on Laverne & Shirley has yet to translate to success on the major league level.
Notes:
- Jose Mijares has been fined but not suspended for yesterday's dust-up.
- Chicago and Detroit start playing at 6:05. Peavy v. Jackson. Peavy dominated them last week.
- Joe C. advises us to remember 2006.
