The Twins have an opportunity to notch their first sweep of the year, as well as to get back to the .500 mark, by taking down the Angels this afternoon.
Glen Perkins has been the team's best starter to this point, having gone eight innings in both of his first two starts. Both times out he allowed just one run, but was still tagged with the loss against the Mariners back on April 9th. Against the weakened Angels lineup, Perkins needs to continue to be aggressive and go after hitters.
Shane Loux, 29, made his first start of the season five days ago, pitching into the sixth in Seattle. He made his debut back in '02 with the Tigers, but after throwing 30 innings in '03 didn't make it back to The Bigs until last summer. Loux won't miss many bats, inducing contact and relying almost exclusively on his defense to convert outs. He throws a low-90's fastball, a quick slider, a curve and on a rare occasion a changeup.
