It will be interesting how many people we get coming here tonight, what with the mad rush to by purple #4 jerseys. Consider this: The Twins have not had a month this bad since August 2001. This is also the first year the Twins have added more than one veteran at the deadline since July 2001. Coincidence? I don't think so!
Probable Pitchers
Remember when the Twins were in contention and Carl Pavano was the piece they needed to catch their rivals? Remember that? That was awesome. Now he's just auditioning for a pitching coach who trains his arms to throw just like Pavano. Maybe he can help a couple of the young guys while he's here, like Philip Humber and Jeff Manship.
Another great arm few around here have heard of. Gosh, maybe all this stuff about babying pitchers being bad for a staff is true. All along I thought it was just Bert's bluster about how much tougher he was than the pitchers of today. We'll see how these guys hold up next year. For now, the Nolan Ryan experiment seems to be working.
Lineups
Justin Morneau appears to have the same inner ear infection that Denard Span suffered from earlier this year. More good news. How 'bout them Vikings?
