The Twins are playing a meaningful baseball game on September 18th. What more do you need to know? Oh, that's right, the players.
Your starting pitchers:
Even if it turns out that this latest appearance of hope is but a false positive, fans can take heart in what Brian Duensing has shown since being thrown into the rotation. To wit: six starts, 3-0, 2.00 ERA. I'll go out on a limb and say he has a shot to be in the starting five in 2010.
First of all, this clown's name isn't even Rick Porcello. It's Fredrick Alfred Porcello III. Sheesh. In his last start at the Dome, he gave up six runs in four IP and lost. Bring it, Fredrick. (NOTE: he's legitimately really good, leads major league rookies in victories and is only 20 years old. I just figured pointless trash-talking would drive more pageviews this way.)
Morales at DH? Approve.
Also, the Twinkie Town braintrust has discussed this, and we feel that, should the Twins win any game with both Tolbert and Punto starting, MLB must award the Twins 1.5-1.75 wins, instead of the standard 1 W. The number varies with LNP's OPS+.
Enjoy the game everyone. Go Twins, as the kids like to say.
