That was the most interesting round of voting we have had since the first round last year. Earlier this morning, there was a tremendous run of voting for Manuel Soliman. None of us know whether a lot of his supporters were on the phone calling friends to get out the vote, or if someone found a way to 'beat the system.' In any case, Manuel Soliman is an exciting prospect who may belong in this spot.
I noticed the unusual voting late this morning. At 11:19 am, Soliman led Billy Bullock 93-to-86 with 337 votes cast. Over the next hour which is usually a very slow time for voting, there were 24 votes cast with 16 of them going to Soliman (67%). Once Soliman had a solid lead, we only received another seven votes (Soliman received two) during the last hour forty five minutes with Soliman beating Bullock by 23 votes, 111-to-88.
There is no question that what happened was unusual to say the least. Were all of Soliman's votes legitimate, I cannot say they were or were not. This is a fun poll that the readers of Twinkie Town do each year, however, we do want it to be an accurate reflection of the opinions of the readers of Twinkie Town.
Therefore, I have decided that we will have a revote for the seventeenth prospect. I will ask everyone voting for Soliman to leave a message in the comment section telling us that they voted for Soliman. Should Soliman receive a lot of votes and few comments, I will count only the votes confirmed by messages. I encourage all who voted for Soliman to do so again and leave a message in the comment section confirming your vote. I would also encourage everyone to vote for the same player as in the original round.
This revote will remain open until 3pm, Thursday, December 30th. Thank you!
