Red Sox 6, Twins 4

No!  The Mayor's Cup!  Nooooo....

The Twins picked up an early 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first, and looked to be on the way to tying the spring training contest at two games apiece, especially with Slowey's perfect three innings leading it off for the home team.  Boston didn't manage a base hit or a walk with Slowey on the mound, and Kevin looked good fanning four Sawks.

Unfortunately it all came unglued in the fourth and fifth, as Rauch and Perkins got absolutel smashed.

Portes, who'd been on fire all spring, finally had a bad game by going hitless and striking out twice in three at-bats.  The big bat for the Twins today (ignoring the three players who picked up two walks each) was Harris, who had three of Minnesota's four RBI and had one of the squad's two extra-base hits.

Here are your studs and duds, and stick around for the Denard Span contract breakdown at eight.
