Speaking of frustration, this from Joe C.:
(The Twins) have lost three in a row, all by one run. In the Twins game notes, there's a note from Elias, that the Twins have gone through three consecutive one-run defeats just three times in their 50 years in Minnesota. It also happened in June 1999 and July 2007.
They're not getting their doors blown off by a vastly superior opponent. They're losing winnable games in agonizing fashion. That's the rub.
Your starting pitchers and lineups after the jump:
Blackburn has the honor of being the only Twins pitcher to notch a victory against the Yankees in the last 5,000 games, going 7 innings and giving up 3 runs in the Jason Kubel game. He has an ERA of 2.67 in his last four starts, and looks to give the Twins another impressive start against the Yankees. (Lost amidst the teeth-gnashing: Baker/Duensing and Liriano have given the Twins all you could ask the last two days. Hard to fault the starting pitchers for much of anything during this skid.)
He's been a trainwreck this year, although he's coming off his best outing of the season against the Mets (6 IP, 1 H, 0 R). His career numbers against the Twins: 1-5, 6.21 ERA.
Lineups, now 100% Brendan Harris-free:
Try to enjoy the game, everybody.
