Stuff to check out while you and Jon Marthaler stress out about the US/Slovenia match:
- Still no word on the status of Orlando Hudson for tonight's game. Will update today as soon as I hear anything.
- Also noted at the O-Dog link: Kyle Gibson is fallable (0-3, 11.04 ERA iN his last three starts). Adjust your rookie card investments as necessary.
- While the Twins have transitioned from their early-season avoidance of aces to an endless array of them, the Tigers avoided Stephen Strasburg in sweeping the Nationals. They've now won six straight against some less-than-stellar NL competition, and head into the weekend against the dreadful Arizona Diamondbacks just 1.5 games back of your favorite baseball team. Meanwhile, the Twins draw Roy Halladay. Yuck.
- Speaking of less-than-stellar NL competition, the White Sox ship has steadied thanks to their own sweep of the Pirates. Unfortunately for them, they will not avoid Stephen Strasburg.
- The Royals were awarded the 2012 All-Star Game. Rob Neyer did not appreciate Over The Monster's criticism of this decision.
- Anyone else to the point where you're actually a little surprised when the Twins don't hit into a double play with runners on base? Me, too. (Here's the leader board.)
- Content Unrelated: team with obnoxious fanbase defeats other team with obnoxious fanbase for NBA title. That said, Ron Artest's post-game interview was magical.
More later, hope our local readers made it through yesterday's storms unscathed.
