2010 - Manny Parra 1-5 22 5 0 0 0 0 48.1 54 24 21 5 22 50 3.91 1.57

Parra's discovered a way to rack up strikeouts this season, with the biggest difference being that he's suddenly getting hitters to take cuts on a lot more pitchers outside of the strikezone. As a result he's also getting more swings and misses. He's already struck out 23 this month in 17.1 innings and making his sixth start of the season tonight -- all have come since May 18. That sinking fastball is still his best pitch.

2010 - Francisco Liriano 6-4 13 13 0 0 0 0 87.2 81 29 29 2 24 93 2.98 1.20

It's become a bit of a mini-holiday for me again when Liriano pitches. He's looking for his sixth consecutive quality start, and already this month he's thrown 22 innings with 27 strikeouts and just fives walks. Frustratingly he's pitched well enough to win each game, but his offense has only given him enough for one in that time frame.

Milwaukee has some dangerous hitters, so he'll need to be careful again with his location and not fall behind too often. If he can do that, he should give us another typical 2010 Liriano performance: a good one.
