2010 - Carl Pavano 10-6 18 18 3 1 0 0 125.2 114 52 50 14 18 71 3.58 1.05

The Sox get the Twins' two best pitchers on back-to-back nights, and it should give the Twins a good shot at a series victory tomorrow. For a great majority of the season, Pavastache has been everything we could have asked for and more: suppressing runs, working deep into games and generally just giving his offense a chance to help him win the game.

In Pavstache we trust.

2010 - Mark Buehrle 8-7 18 18 0 0 0 0 110.1 129 56 52 10 29 51 4.24 1.43

It never seems like a real series with the South Siders until we face the undead Buehrle. Like Pavano, Buehrle likes to get ahead early and then nibble a bit, hoping to get the batter to commit to a pitcher's pitch and get some weak contact. He's efficient in terms of pitches per plate appearance, but that doesn't always translate into outs.

We've seen how quickly Buehrle works on the mound, and even though he doesn't overpower anybody he fights for every out. Let's see if we can't kick him around a little bit tonight. We get extra points if Drew Butera reaches base.
