Know Thine Enemy: Camden Chat
Over his last eight starts Millwood has averaged less than five innings per start, earning a Blackburn-esque 9.30 ERA. It was capped off two and a half weeks ago, in his last start, when he managed just one inning in Detroit.
Millwood's biggest issue is efficiency. While he doesn't have too much trouble getting ahead early in the count, counts go long. But that's what happens with you throw more than 100 pitches and you're not a sure bet to complete five innings.
Over the course of his career, his greatest pitches were his breaking balls. This facet of his arsenal has become less effective over the past couple of seasons and this year is no different. Right now we're getting Millwood at his worst. He's had some rest and we know he's crafty, so the Twins will need to be patient, but they should be able to score some runs tonight.
