2010 - Kevin Slowey
10-5 24 22 0 0 0 0 127.1 140 64 63 17 22 93 4.45 1.27

Slowey has lowered his ERA one half of a run in his last three starts: 21.2 innings, 12 hits, 16 strikeouts, 2 walks and a 2.08 ERA. I'd love notihng more than for him to continue that trend today.

The key, as it's been most of the year for Kevin, is to change speeds and, hopefully, get those off-speed pitches to work for him.

2010 - Vin Mazzaro
6-4 16 13 0 0 0 0 88.2 89 45 38 12 33 59 3.86 1.38

Right, so then there's this guy. He's still just 23, the young right-hander throws in the low 90s while his breaking balls have been his most effective offerings this year. He'll get a few swings and misses and strike out a few, but largely he pitches to contact and doesn't garner enough chase swings to be a strikeout pitcher.

Mazzaro likes to work away, which is common. He'll throw a very hittable fastball early in the count (.356 batting average against), but will rely on his breaking ball later in the count and in two-strike situations...especially against right-handed hitters.
