Game 129: Twins @ Mariners

First Pitch: 9:10 PM CDT
TV: Fox Sports North
Radio: Twins Radio Network
Know Thine Enemy: Lookout Landing

What I'll Be Enjoying This Weekend: Moon Man

(I'm writing this on Thursday afternoon before I haul the family across Wisconsin to visit some friends, talk about the [redacted] Packers and laugh at them about Carlos Gomez. Please forgive the speculative nature of this thread and the lack of lineups. Feel free to throw the latter up in the comments thread when they're available or harass one of the senior writers to do so.)

The Twins look to (get the bitter taste of a 4-game sweep at the hands of the Texas Rangers out of their mouths/build a winning streak after defeating one of the game's best pitchers in Cliff Lee) as they take on Seattle this evening. The Mariners are (terrible/really, just terrible).

2010 - Scott Baker 11-9 25 25 0 0 0 0 151.2 168 79 78 21 33 125 4.63 1.33

Baker and his comically glued-on facial hair can hopefully build on their dominant outing against the Angels on Sunday Night Baseball, a performance so unexpected that it almost made Joe Morgan make sense.

2010 - Jason Vargas 9-6 24 24 0 0 0 0 152.0 140 60 58 15 42 96 3.43 1.20

Lookout Landing, our doppelganger in the Pacific Northwest, gave Vargas the honor of Biggest Suckfest in his last start against the Yankees. Much like xFIP, I don't necessarily understand this statistic, but grasp its importance.

Enjoy the game, everybody. Jon Marthaler will provide a recap for you and sing you an epic ballad of romantic longing. Or "Gimme Three Steps," I'm not sure.
