Know Thine Enemy: Lone Star Ball
After winning eight consecutive decisions in June and July, Pavano's August wasn't nearly as impressive. In six August starts he was 2-4 with a 4.69 ERA, with opponents hitting .325/.364/.458...although most of that has to do with the 15-hit nightmare against the White Sox on August 19. He did pitch much better his last time out, throwing seven innings of two-run ball.
Two starts ago Pavano allowed four runs in a complete game loss to the Rangers. Tonight he has another chance to beat them, so hopefully tonight his offense can get him a little more support.

What a story this guy's turned out to be. Looks like the Twins knew what they were doing when they offered him a two-year deal last winter.
Lewis uses his breaking balls a great deal, in particular his slider. It's his strikeout pitch, and he'll use it at any time. The only real tendency pitch-wise is that all but disappears against right-handed hitters and in two-strike situations.
This should be a good game.
