B. J. Hermsen ran away with the Twenty-Seventh spot in this year's poll with 79 of 198 votes (39%). Pat Dean was a distant second with 29 votes while Nikko Goodrum was third with 18 votes.
Only Bruce Pugh had less than two percent, however, this was the first round he was included so he will remain in the next round. Added to the next round will be a relief pitcher who made one brief appearance with the Twins last summer, Robert Delaney. Delaney has been one of the top short relievers in minor league baseball since being signed at a tryout camp after graduating from St. Johns University in 2006. Delaney was the MLB.com Minor League Relief Pitcher of the Year in 2008 after going 3-3 with a 1.23 ERA in 66.0 innings at Ft. Myers and New Britain. Delaney had a 7-9 record last year at Rochester with a 4.73 ERA in 80.0 innings with 92 strikeouts and 23 walks. He pitched 1.0 inning with the Twins, allowing two hits and one earned run.
