In what was one of the closest races of the year, Daniel Ortiz was selected our Thirty-Seventh best prospect with 34 of the 195 votes (17%). Steve Singleton was second with 30 votes with three more players bunched between 25 and 27 votes.
All of the players in the last round will return to the next round of voting. Nate Roberts will also return after his elimination thirteen rounds ago. Roberts received some mention from several national sources as one of the better young prospects in the organization. Roberts, the Twins fifth round pick in last year's draft, had the Elizabethton Twins second highest batting average at .336/.444/.547 in 128 at bats. Unfortunately, he didn't sign in time to get enough at bats to qualify for the league lead. If he had, he would have finished second to Oswaldo Arcia. Like Arcia, Roberts did not make a single error.
This round will remain open through Noon, Thursday, January 27th.
