Twinkie Town 2011 Top 50...Prospect #25!

In his first round back in the voting since being eliminated in round eleven, Kane Holbrooks collected 88 of 278 votes (31%) to win the Twenty-fourth spot in this year's poll. Luke Hughes was second with B. J. Hermsen a distant third. Hughes will again go for the win in what will be the nineteenth consecutive round that he has been eligible.

Two players, Brandon Roberts and Tyler Robertson didn't have the minimum two percent and will be dropped from the next round. Added will be two pitchers, Matt Bashore and Brett Jacobson, and infielder Steve Singleton. Bashore was the Twins comp pick following the first round of the 2009 draft. The former Indiana University lefty pitched only 2.0 innings for Elizabethton before undergoing Tommy John surgery and missing the balance of 2009 and all of 2010 seasons. The Twins obtained Jacobson from Baltimore last month as part of the J.J. Hardy trade. Jacobson, 24, pitched in the Class A Carolina league last summer where he had a 8-1 record with a 2.79 ERA and 67 strikeouts in 71.0 innings of relief. Singleton is a solid middle infielder who spent much of the last two seasons at AA New Britain. Singleton hit .267/.325/.410 in 502 at bats with a team, organization and league best 43 doubles.

Voting for this round will remain open through 3pm, Saturday, January 8th. Please continue to leave comments about who you voted for and who you would like to see added.
