First things first: no new developments in the Wilson Ramos abduction this morning. Follow SB Nation's Story Stream here.
Onto less important matters:
- Nothing new on the Twins' front as far as free agency goes. Hard to read too much into this, since the team changed GMs on Monday with zero leaks, which is as likely in this day and age as having two Renes on your active roster. That said, Rhett Bollinger had an interview with Terry Ryan over at MLB.com yesterday, and the gist of it was that Minnesota is still interested in retaining clubhouse magician/outfielder Michael Cuddyer. I just don't see it happening with the payroll reductions that are allegedly being made.
- The big story this morning is Albert Pujols taking a meeting with Ozzie Guillen's Marlins. They've already met with Mark Buehrle and Jose Reyes and are pursuing Yacht Rock sensation Yoenis Cespedes, so it appears the Marlins are ready to make a splash this off-season! (Because they're fish and live in the water, you see. And I'm so very sorry.)
- In addition to Buehrle, our good friends at TwinsCentric also recommended the Twins pursue catcher Rod Barajas as a backup/injury replacement for Joe Mauer. Scratch him off your wishlist, as he has signed with the Pirates.
- Beyond that, there's not much else out there to report. Pull up MLB Trade Rumors and hit F5 for awhile if you so choose.
If anything else cool or newsworthy happens today, we'll be back to cover it. Until then, enjoy two minutes of Tobias Fünke.
