Twinkie Town 2012 Top 50...Round 10!

Congatulations to Brian Dozier who captured the ninth spot in this year's ranking. Brian, who was this year's Player of the Year, collected 124 of the 428 votes (28%) cast. Chris Herrmann was second with 77 votes, Max Kepler third (67), Levi Michael fourth (57) and Adrian Salcedo fifth with 43 votes.

After collecting only a few votes the first two times he was included in the voting, Alex Wimmers received 23 votes in this round. The progression most players have in this process tells me the voters of Twinkie Town are doing an excellent job in this annual process. I understand that most of us may place an individual player differently, however, I believe that collectively our ranking is as good as any ranking out there and better than most.

Travis Harrison didn't get the required two percent of the votes and will be dropped from the next round. Added today for the first time are last year's second round pick, Eden Prairie native Madison Boer, and a young man who may be as talented as our top three, Niko Goodrum. After signing this summer, Boer led the Elizabethton Twins with nine saves while posting a 2.60 ERA. He numbers weren't the same late in the season at Beloit, however, he appears to be another excellent selection who will be moved to a starter next spring. Goodrum was an extremely talented athlete who was raw when drafted in the second round out of high school a year earlier. He has all the physical tools to become a star and in his fifth year as a switch hitter made tremendous progress from the left side.

Please continue letting me know who you would like to see added to future rounds.
