Twinkie Town 2012 Top 50...Round 11!

In a tight battle this morning, Chris Herrmann ekked out a win over Max Kepler. Herrmann becomes our tenth ranked prospect with 123 of 419 votes (29%). Kepler wasa close second with 112 votes, Levi Michael third (64), Adrian Salcedo fourth (48) and Alex Wimmers fifth with 40 votes.

That means the Twinkie Town 2012 Top 10 is completed: Miguel Sano (1), Eddie Rosario (2), Oswaldo Arcia (3), Aaron Hicks (4), Joe Benson (5), Kyle Gibson (6), Chris Parmelee (7), Liam Hendriks (8), Brian Dozier (9) and Chris Herrmann (10). Our Top 10 included four outfielders, two pitchers, a first baseman, shortstop, a catcher/corner outfielder and a fifth outfielder who may wind up a second base.

Hudson Boyd and Matt Bashore will be dropped from the next round. We will bring back recent Rule V pick Terry Doyle. Making their first appearance are two players who had excellent 2011 seasons. Andrew Albers was as good as any pitcher in the organization. The lefty who signed last winter had a 4-1 record in Ft. Myers with a 1.55 ERA in 22 games (52.1 innings). He moved up to New Britain where he appeared in thirteen games, including five starts. He posted an identical 4-1 record with a 2.91 ERA in 43.1 innings. A combined 8-2 record with a 2.16 ERA in Hi-A/AA certainly got my attention. The other addition is JaDamion Williams who had a better average than Rosario for much of the summer. Williams, who was the fastest player on the Elizabethton Twins, finished with a .324 average in 185 at bats.

This round will remain open through noon on Thursday. Please continue to let me know who you want added in the next ten rounds.
