Baseball during the day! Huzzah!
The Twins look to win their first series of the year/sweep the Royals today, after a fun 10th inning walk-off win last night. As a team that's had a relatively hot start this year (as they tend to do), the Royals have had their own share of late-inning rallies and comebacks, but the Twins offense needs to show up and slow the Royals down today to get one step closer to the .500 mark. Pitcher information and lineups after the jump.

Francisco Liriano

#47 / Pitcher / Minnesota Twins

Oct 26, 1983

Liriano has a pretty decent record against the Royals, though he's never faced Francoeur before, so we'll see how that goes today. He has a career .226 opponent batting average against the Royals, and the one player on the team that has hit him the best is Melky Cabrera (though mostly because of a small sample size). If Liriano can remain calm and keep his slider working, he should be fine today, but his previous starts haven't been super encouraging. The Royals might just be the cure he needs to gain a little confidence back.

Kyle Davies

#34 / Pitcher / Kansas City Royals

Sep 09, 1983

I'll just say this-if Jason Kubel and his career .455 BA is not facing Davies in the lineup today, I'll be severely disappointed. Kubes owns this guy, and that could be huge in breaking out of the offensive slump even further. I'm sure Joe will be sitting, but he hits Davies well too. Well, if we're going to be honest, the whole team hits Davies well-except for Morneau. The Twins should take advantage of this and knock him around for a few runs early. For some strange reason, Soria wasn't used last night, so if it's a close game, the Twins might see him today.

Make sure you check out Royals Review for a good take on the game as well!
